The durable development of the urban space is a sensitive
element where the city meets with river spaces. River cities, located
mainly in Europe, do not always have a positive interface with their rivers
and their spaces.
RIVERLINKS
has proposed putting online six cities with similar problems that are
all about to start improvement actions to their river territories, with
the perspective of obtaining efficient results in relation with environmental
improvement, protection of natural systems and cultural landscapes along
with the safety for citizens.
Such activities cross paths and come together in a collaboration and comparison
system apt to orient choices on a wide scale. Each partner will develop
a settling plan by coming down to feasibility levels and four of them
will carry on with the realization of pilot plans.
We want to supply precise information on the contents of this operation
and of its purpose, to describe approaches and methods used for the attainment
of the purposes described as well as the reasons behind such methods.
Activities are localised in the South: Florence, Bordeaux and Seville;
in the North: Bremen, Dresden and Tallinn.
